Lover of dark coffee, gaming and customization
Where is the file stored?

Hello all!

I knew if someone would have the answer it would be here. Ok, this is the situation. In Windowblinds right next to the Windows Aero skin, is a skin called, 'Modified Aero Skin'. The author is me. My best guess is that, god knows when, I opened the default aero skin in studio perhaps. I have no idea when I did it. LOL. Ok, so today I'm thinking, what was I doing? Omg! So I immediately right click to delete the darn thing and darnit, I cant.

Ok, so I go to the resources file and look for the 'Modified Aero'. What is there is the Window's Classic skin and one called aero. There is also one folder named Aero with a couple of files inside. The Aero folder can be moved to the desktop but the little aero theme can't. I'm thinking, this may not even be where it would be stored if I had indeed goofed around in studio and 'created' a new file. OH, lest I forget to mention; the file is also NOT in the windowblinds main skin directory.

My question is: How the heck can I delete this ? Any ideas?

I'm the kind of person that will literally spend hours for something as small and unimportant as this, just because it aggravates me not to be able to remove any thing I want from my PC and/or not know where something is located. Well, I spent at least an hour researching the web, searching thru tons of places where it could knowingly be stored, but alas, no luck. At this point, I'm thinking, dam, my coffee is gonna burn and I have other things to do before the race starts, so here I am hoping someone else can help me get this thing deleted.

Thanks in advance for any help!

PCPrincess, my guess is you changed one of the Microsoft Aero Themes which you can download for W7 at their site....either the taskbar color or whatever, and now you see it with your current wallpaper behind it.

Just leave it alone...you can delete it only by deleting the theme/s you downloaded.

I think. Anyway, you can't submit it.

I have a modified aero skin, too.  I think that shows up when you choose a different color scheme from the default aero in Microsoft Windows.  It can't be deleted, because it isn't a Windowblinds skin...it's Microsoft Windows Aero, alternate style (I think).  If you don't want to see it in your Windowblinds selection, you could rank it as 1 star, and rank all the rest of the skins as MORE than 1 star, and then set the filter to 2 stars.

Modified Aero is there so you can apply say a texture to Aero without making it very hard to switch back to unmodified Aero.

If you have Aero selected and you alter the skin by recolouring or applying a texture then WindowBlinds switches you to the Modified Aero entry.

You cannot delete it because it doesn't really exist and it doesn't have its own rating either.  It shares a rating with Aero.
